Salvation Farms

Salvation Farms, GleaningSalvation Farms’ mission is to build increased resilience in Vermont’s food system through agricultural surplus management. Salvation Farms received a grant of $10,000 in general operating support.

In addition to coordinating a statewide collective of gleaning programs, Salvation Farms are creating procedures, recipes, and processes for light processing of surplus produce; developing creative programming, i.e. incorporating educational food system programming into the Department of Corrections prison facilities through the Community High School of Vermont that will provide certificate training to inmates and a light processing avenue for surplus fresh food; and developing education & other initiatives that foster a just and equitable food system in Vermont.
